Scotland is abolishing the "not proven" verdict from today – meaning juries will now have to find an accused person either "guilty" or "not guilty".
The killing of 19-year-old Amanda Duffy in 1992 led to a campaign by her parents to change the law. A jury returned a "not proven" verdict against the man accused of her murder, meaning he walked free and could not face another trial.
