Sir Keir Starmer declared that Scotland was "vital" to forming the next Labour government – calling the SNP as divided and chaotic as the Conservatives.

He used his visit to Glasgow to promote Labour’s idea for a publicly-owned green energy company.

Rishi Sunak, who’s been campaigning in Northern Ireland, argued that a fall in the energy price cap proved that his plan was working.
