As the government continues efforts to keep the furnaces burning in Scunthorpe, questions have been raised over China’s involvement in the industry.
Nina Hossain speaks with Professor Kerry Brown from Kings College London about the impact the UK government’s take over of the Scunthorpe Steel plant will have on the UK-China Relationship.
The shipment on Tuesday was welcomed by the steelworkers’ union community, which said the arrival of the materials was a “huge relief” after Jingye’s “disgraceful actions” risked thousands of job losses, while British Steel said it offers “great hope” for the future.
