And in the UK, 90% of those meadows have been lost. Now what’s been billed as the UK’s first large-scale seagrass nursery is processing tens of thousands of plants, the first of which have been introduced into the wild to restore underwater meadows. We’ve been to Carmarthenshire in Wales to see how scientists are attempting to restore what’s been lost.
