A second suspect has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit assault, Greater Manchester Police said, after a man armed with an axe was detained at Manchester Central Mosque on Tuesday.
2,000 people were inside at the time during Ramadan prayers. Police have not declared it a terrorist incident – but were working with Counter Terrorism Police to investigate.
