At least 18 people died and dozens were injured in a crowd crush at the main railway station in India’s capital New Delhi.

The incident occurred around 8pm local time on 15 February on two platforms as passengers waited to board trains to Prayagraj city, where the Hindu Kumbh Mela festival is being hosted. The six-week Kumbh Mela is the single biggest milestone in the Hindu religious calendar, and officials said about 500 million devotees have already visited the festival since it began last month
