Should Britain legalise assisted dying?

A bill which would allow terminally ill adults to opt for assisted dying has been formally introduced in the Commons – where MPs will begin debating the controversial issue at the end of next month.

Kim Leadbeater, who has brought the measure forward, insisted that it would have all the necessary safeguards and protections. But critics – including the Archbishop of Canterbury – warn it’ll end up being broadened out.
