On the banks of what Trump calls the gulf of America, there are hundreds of shrimping trawlers and generations of fishermen eager to see a new shrimp bonanza.

But while Trump’s tariffs might stop the tidal-wave of shrimp coming from India, Indonesia or Ecuador – the possibility of economic slowdown sparked by a trade war could end up hurting the very consumers who shrimpers want to serve.
