Sir Ed Davey says it has been a "very difficult decision" to skip next month’s state dinner, but that he believes the US president "is the one person" who can end the war in Gaza.
The Liberal Democrat leader was speaking to Sky News following his announcement that he will be boycotting the state dinner being held next month in honour of US President Donald Trump.
Rejecting the invitation will be seen as a snub to the monarch, but Davey has said it is about sending a message to Trump that he must act and end the war in Gaza.
