Sir Keir Starmer holds a press conference at the NATO summit in the Netherlands where he is set to announce that the UK will purchase 12 new fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear bombs.
Billed by Downing Street as “the biggest strengthening of the UK’s nuclear posture in a generation”, the move will see the UK purchase 12 F-35A jets and join Nato’s airborne nuclear mission.
It’s part of the Government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s nuclear deterrent.
