Sky News Q&A live: Massacre on streets of Sudan

Africa correspondent Yousra Elbagir will be here for a live Q&A after a joint investigation by Sky News, Lighthouse Reports, Washington Post and Le Monde uncovered the gruesome details of a massacre which took place on 3 June 2023 – one of the first episodes of ethnically-motivated atrocities in this latest war.

The massacre – reminiscent of scenes during the 2003 genocide in Darfur – happened away from the eyes of the world, as there is little media access to the country.

Sky News approached the RSF and the individuals named in the report for comment on these allegations.

While the RSF has not replied to Sky News directly, it has told the Washington Post, our partners in this investigation: "The ethnic dimensions of the conflict had been overblown and exploited to manipulate the Western media, and people in Kutum from different tribes were now living together peacefully – overseen by an RSF commander from the African Fur tribe."
