Sky News team witnesses Congolese soldiers surrendering as rebels take Goma

Thousands of people are fleeing the key regional hub city of Goma in eastern Congo following heavy fighting between the army and Rwandan-backed rebels.

The Congolese M23 movement says its fighters have taken control of the city, which is seen as the government’s last stronghold.

Goma is a key location in the North Kivu province whose minerals are critical to much of the world’s technology.

Sky’s Yousra Elbagir and her team were in Goma to witness the flight of panicked refugees.
