Sky's Yousra Elbagir returns to war-torn home in Khartoum after two years of war in Sudan

Sky News correspondent Yousra Elbagir has returned to her childhood home in Khartoum after two years of war in Sudan.

The house was ransacked and left for ruin after being occupied by paramilitary troops.

While inside, Yousra calls her mother to show her the damage for the first time.

War erupted in the country’s capital in April 2023 and it sent millions searching for safety.

Over 13 million people have been displaced by the conflict, with many forced to flee their homes in search of refuge.

At least 61,000 people were killed from the fighting and siege conditions in Khartoum state alone.

Thousands more were maimed and many remain missing.
