The SnowDome in Tamworth was fined for breaching health and safety regulations over the death of Louis Watkiss. Louis was at a friend’s birthday tobogganing (sledding) party and was travelling down the slope on a plastic sled. He crashed with the centre’s operations manager Joseph Dibb, who fell backwards onto him. Louis suffered skull fractures and died at the scene. The three directors for SnowDome said they are "forever deeply ashamed" and that "responsibility will sit firmly on our shoulders forevermore".
