SNP makes case for Scottish independence at manifesto launch

The SNP leader John Swinney doubled down on a promise to push for another independence referendum as he launched his party’s manifesto in Edinburgh.

He says if the SNP wins a majority of seats again in Scotland, this will empower him to begin immediate negotiations with Westminster on holding another vote but the SNP faces a tough fight with Labour to remain Scotland’s largest party.
