‘Social care in worst place than pandemic’

Adult social care is "in a worst position than it was at the start of the latest pandemic" says Mike Padgham, Chair of the Independent Care Group.

The Covid-19 inquiry looking at the impact on adult care services commenced today. More than 40,000 care home residents died with Covid in England and Wales between March 2020 and January 2022.
