Victorious Socialist Paris mayoral candidate Emmanuel Grégoire arrived to give his victory speech to supporters while riding a bicycle to show that the city would continue its pro-cycling and environmental policies. Surrounded by supporters Grégoire said his victory sent a clear message:’Paris is not and will never be a far‑right city.’ Grégoire was projected to have won with about 52% of the vote. This marked a clear win against his main opponent, conservative Rachida Dati.
