Demonstrators plan to take to the streets of France again on October 24, following violent and shocking scenes across the country the weekend prior.
The protests began in September, with demands from high school students for a fairer education system and better funding.
ITV News Reporter Cari Davies spoke to young people in Paris, and while some were determined to keep protesting, others were losing confidence as the French authorities announced increased security measures. These include mobilising the French military and tens of thousands of security forces.
