Chief secretary to the prime minister, Darren Jones, says that Labour’s manifesto commitment not to raise VAT "stands today" – but refused to rule out changes in the upcoming budget.
Jones told Sophy Ridge and Beth Rigby: "I am not ruling anything out or ruling anything in."
Ahead of the 2024 general election, Labour committed to not raising taxes on working people.
