Spain protests against serious housing crisis

12,000 people protested on the streets of Madrid this weekend, rallying against the lack of affordable housing in Spain.

Residents say they are being priced out by high rents and holiday lettings – made worse by a ‘tourism boom’. Similar demonstrations in Lisbon, Amsterdam, Prague and Milan have also urged governments to address the housing crisis.
