‘Spreading like fire’ – expert on Syria violence

A Syrian monitoring group says more than 400 civilians from the Alawite minority have been killed by pro-government militia forces and their supporters.

Dr Rim Turkmani, the Syria Research Director at the London School of Economics, says the violence is “spreading like fire” and “it doesn’t look like new government has any way of stopping these ongoing massacres”.
