The number of people suspected of taking their own life following domestic abuse has become more common than being killed by an ex or current partner, according to a new report.
In the twelve months to March 2024, the National Police Chief Council report says 98 people were suspected to have taken their own life following domestic abuse. And in 92% of those cases, either the victim or perpetrator were known to authorities.
Sky Correspondent Mollie Malone joins a support session where victims describe a "relentless torment" of abuse, as a police chief admits "there is an awful lot" to learn to prevent future deaths.
WARNING: Report contains references to suicide.
Anyone feeling emotionally distressed or suicidal can call Samaritans for help on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org in the UK. In the US, call the Samaritans branch in your area or 1 (800) 273-TALK
