The Prime Minister and the French President have agreed a landmark "one in, one out" deal which would see those crossing the Channel illegal, detained and returned to France.
Sir Keir Starmer said in return the UK would allow a different person to enter the country through a controlled and legal route.
As he stood beside President Macron, the Prime Minister hailed the scheme as "groundbreaking" and said it would start within weeks.
But to begin with it will only see around 50 expulsions per week. But it’s not clear if it’ll be blocked by the courts.
