Last night, the government released a panicked rewrite to its welfare reform bill – marking a third U-turn in one month for the Labour Party.
Plans to cut Universal Credit sickness payments from 97 to 50 pounds have been scrapped.
The government previously argued the payment incentivised people to claim long-term sickness benefits over unemployment benefits.
