Sir Keir Starmer has spoken by phone to the President of Iran, with fears mounting of an imminent attack on Israel from Iran or its proxies.
Speaking to Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday evening, Sir Keir Starmer warned of “a serious risk of miscalculation”, Downing Street said.
It comes as several European leaders have made fresh calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, the return of hostages held by Hamas, and the "unfettered" delivery of humanitarian aid.
