Sir Keir Starmer faced questions and criticisms about the Mandelson scandal and his judgement more widely throughout Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday after fighting back against pressure to quit.
The prime minister also suggested he was misled by his former communications chief Matthew Doyle, who became a central part of the questions in the House of Commons after he had the whip removed on Tuesday for his ties to a paedophile councillor.
