Ed Davey, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, asked Starmer whether he would fly to Canada as soon as possible to show solidarity with the new PM, Mark Carney. Starmer said Canada was an important ally, that he was disappointed to see global tariffs but would take a ‘pragmatic approach’
