Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has just finished what aides had described as an introductory meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron.
Sir Keir told broadcasters: "We had a very constructive and positive meeting which, as you can imagine, covered a wide range of issues."
He said he was able to communicate how much he values the UK’s relationship with France, particularly in the spheres of "prosperity and security".
