Starmer shakes up Downing Street team with mini-reshuffle

Back in Downing Street after his summer break, Sir Keir Starmer has decided he needs a new team in the building to "bolster" his operation.

Some officials have been shown the door and he’s even created a completely new role for a minister to help deliver the Prime Minister’s priorities across the government.

High on that list is tightening up the immigration system – starting with the suspension of family reunion applications from asylum seekers.
