Starmer U-turns on plans for mandatory digital ID cards

Sir Keir Starmer has U-turned on plans for mandatory digital ID cards, Sky News understands.

At the time it was announced last year, the government said that digital IDs would become mandatory for the right to work by the end of this parliament – which is 2029.

But Sky News understands this will no longer be the case.
