Starmer wants UK ready for ‘war-fighting’

The Prime Minister has unveiled his defence spending plans – saying he’s making the UK ready for war in an increasingly dangerous world.

Sir Keir Starmer said Britain will build at least six new munitions factories and up to 12 attack submarines, creating thousands of jobs.

But raising defence spending to 3% of GDP in the next parliament remains an ambition, not a commitment.
