On tonight’s Evening News:
New Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has held discussions with Britain’s main allies and said the UK could suspend visas for countries that do not agree to returns deals for illegal migrants.
Mahmood was appointed by the Prime Minister on Friday in the Cabinet reshuffle prompted by Angela Rayner’s resignation.
It came as the official process to replace Rayner as Deputy leader of the Labour Party got underway.
Meanwhile:
Six people have been killed and eight others wounded by Palestinian gunmen – in one of the deadliest shooting attacks in Jerusalem in the past few years.
The 2 gunmen – who were shot dead by Israeli authorities – struck at a busy intersection called Rah-mote junction, on a road that leads to illegal Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem.
