Stock market rises briefly – but it was based on ‘fake news’

US stock markets have seen dramatic fluctuations today as they initially saw massive drops following huge losses in Asian and European markets.

Rumours that President Trump might pause his tariff programme by 90 days, sent US stocks back up but they plummeted again after the White House dismissed talk of a rethink as ‘fake news’.
