Amber warnings for ‘persistent and heavy rain’ came into force at noon today, covering parts of Wales and central England.

The Met Office has warned that Storm Claudia could bring the equivalent of up to a month of rain in a day and there are also yellow warnings for high winds in north west Wales and north west England.
Yellow rain warnings are in place across wider areas of England and Wales.
