The health secretary has dismissed suggestions that the timetable of the race to elect a replacement for Angela Rayner is being rushed.
Nominations for the role of deputy leader of the Labour Party have opened today, with a winner to be announced on 25 October.
Wes Streeting told Sky News: "I think there will be two candidates, at least by the end of the week. I think we’ve got some fantastic people putting themselves forward.
