Sir Mel Stride’s speech to a partially full event hall had one main theme.
The shadow chancellor painted the Tory party as being financially responsible, compared to both Labour and Reform.
He said the Conservative Party is "the only party that gets it" and the "only party that will stand up for fiscal responsibility".
Stride attacked Chancellor Rachel Reeves for having "blown a vast hole in the public finances", and Reform for being the "party of more spending and more debt".
