Iran and allied armed groups are firing missiles at Israel, Arab states, and US military targets around the region on Monday as fighting across the Middle East continues to escalate.
At least 555 people in Iran have been killed since US-Israeli airstrikes began targeting the country over the weekend, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes on Beirut and southern Lebanon on Monday killed at least 31 people and injured 149, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
US Central Command also said the death toll of American service members has risen to four after one person, who was "seriously injured during Iran’s initial attacks, eventually succumbed to their injuries."
The intensity of the attacks on both sides, the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the lack of any apparent exit plan indicate the conflict will not end any time soon as it spreads across the Middle East.
