There are nearly one million 16-24 year olds not in education, employment or training in Britain – commonly known as NEETs.
Exclusive analysis given to Channel 4 News shows that young people who grew up in deprivation are much more likely to become NEET and will stay that way for much longer too.

New analysis by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation reveals that growing up in persistent poverty can triple the likelihood of becoming NEET and make it much harder to escape.
The young people featured in this video are being supported by organisations including The King’s Trust and Spear South Wales.
