Students celebrate A-level results but universities face funding crisis

Hundreds of thousands of students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are digesting the results of their A level, BTech and T level exams.

The number of candidates getting A star and A – rose for the first time in three years – but there hasn’t been an even distribution in the top grades. There’s still an attainment gap in some areas of the country and among those with lower family incomes.
