In one of the deadliest attacks since the war began in 2023, officials say a drone strike on a busy market in the disputed Abyei region killed more than 150 people and triggered a massive fire. South Sudan and Abyei authorities blame Sudan’s military but responsibility for the attack has not been independently verified. Sudan’s military has not commented on this incident.
