The suspect in the Berlin Pride attack that left one person dead and 29 injured has been shot and killed following a major manhunt, German police have confirmed.
Abdul Ballout, a 21-year-old German citizen with Lebanese roots, was killed following a search that lasted nearly 24 hours after the attack in Berlin.
Authorities believe the attack was an act of Islamist extremist terror.
On Sunday, Berlin prosecutors said the suspect had previously sought to join the militant Islamic State group.
Police said the suspect was "located in an allotment garden facility" in western Berlin, where he was shot after rushing towards emergency services "with a stabbing weapon".
