
Hundreds of people in eastern Russia have been placed in quarantine after a laboratory worker died of suspected pneumonic plague.
Darya Shipolova was an employee of the Anti-Plague Research Institute in Siberia and people thought to have had contact with her are reportedly being isolated.
Annie Jacobsen, author of ‘Biological War: A Scenario’, which examines the potential consequences of a large-scale biological attack or the accidental release of a pathogen tells Channel 4 News the circumstances "suggests engineering" which is "troubling".
