An already suspended Labour member of the Scottish Parliament has been charged over allegations that a secret camera was placed in toilets inside the Edinburgh parliament.

Colin Smyth, the MSP for South Scotland since 2016, had earlier been arrested and charged in connection with possession of indecent images, prompting his suspension from Scottish Labour.
His Holyrood pass was deactivated on Thursday and the Scottish Parliament website now lists him as an Independent.
