If there’s one fashion brand that epitomised the swinging sixties it was Biba. It started as a mail order company later becoming a seven-story department store, known for its mini skirts and then – in the early seventies – as the home of bell bottom trousers, floppy brimmed hats and billowing ostrich feather decorations.

Its success was built on the design brilliance of its founder Barbara Hulanicki.
