Synagogue survivor hit with bullet tells ITV News he still grapples with guilt | ITV News

A 39-year-old man who was shot with a police bullet has described seeing "evil" in the eyes of the man who attacked his synagogue in Crumpsall, north Manchester.

Yoni Finlay was getting ready for Yom Kippur – the holiest day in the Jewish Calendar – when Jihad Al-Shamie drove his car into Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on October 2.

A total of 37 people were inside.

Mr Finlay described hearing a loud bang and barricading the doors alongside other worshippers in an attempt to stop him from getting inside. Al-Shamie had just run over a security guard before stabbing two security volunteers.
