Violence in Aleppo has exposed a key post-war fault line in Syria, as Kurdish forces resist President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s Islamist-led government’s attempts to centralize control. Fighting broke out in three neighborhoods where the Defense Ministry had announced a ceasefire, killing dozens and displacing more than 140,000 people.
