Tasers to be trialled in UK prisons

Tasers are being issued to specialist staff in some male prisons as part of a trial launched today.

Officers have been demonstrating how they would use Tasers on violent inmates in hostage situations, riots or other threats to safety.

It’s part of a government plan to clamp down on record levels of violence against prison staff.
