WARNING: This report contains details which some viewers may find distressing.
A teenage girl has shared her story with ITV News after learning the man who raped her and a second girl on Teesside will serve just three years behind bars.
Sam Brewster was handed a 3-year jail term for each rape. But rather than serve a total of six years, he’s been allowed to serve each term concurrently, meaning both sentences will run alongside each other.
His victims are appealing that sentence, fearing he may even be able to leave prison earlier, before the full three years are up.
