A filmmaker in Iran has been sending us videos and voice notes documenting her perspective of the war in Tehran.
These were recorded at great risk – if caught she could face the death penalty.
This film covers the period from the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the appointment of his son Mojtaba as Iran’s new supreme leader.
Iran’s internet black out is now in it’s 19th day, with only a chosen few granted access to the internet, the rest of the country face little to no connection under increasingly tight control. Getting this footage out of the country has been extremely difficult.
This piece by ITV News and Zandland is told in our filmmakers voice, but we have altered the sound with AI for her protection. We are calling her Shirin.
