More than 30,000 people attended a vigil in central London on Monday evening in honour of former Cambridge University Professor Jason Arday.
Prof Arday was found dead in his South London home last week after a period of intense public scrutiny following allegations of plagiarism.
Flowers were laid at the foot of Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, as tens of thousands paid tribute in a vigil organised by campaign group Stand Up To Racism.
Friends and politicians delivered speeches, as people chanted, "I am Professor Jason Arday".
